Wood Badge Training for Scout Leaders in Region I (Punakha, Gasa, Wangdue, Dagana, Haa and Paro Dzongkhag).

A total of 24 Scout Leaders from Five Dzongkhags attended Advanced Course (Wood Badge Training) from 30th March 2019 to 6th April 2019 at Lam Pelri Botanical Garden, Punakha. The Training was being initiated to mark the 100 years of Wood Badge Training for Leaders that was first time initiated in 1919 in Gilwell Park, the United Kingdom by the Founder of Scout Movement Robert Stephenson Smyth Powell.

The Leaders after completing a vigorous outdoor training will then renew their Warrant to become a Scout leader qualified to carry out advanced level scouting programs in schools and communities. In pursuit of promotion and strengthening of the Scouting program in Bhutan, Wood Badge Training in all Four Regions will be conducted in 2019 to upgrade and enhance their scouting horizons effectively deliver programs to our youth.
